National Treasure Zenkoji Temple & Nakamise Shopping street by local train "Shinano" railway
Description
You will visit Nagano City by the local Shinano Railway. You can enjoy beautiful mountain ranges and townscapes of Toshin (Eastern Nagano) area seen from the train windows (for about 90 minutes) and reach Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City. This is the temple which was said that the people had to visit at least one time in their life time in the Edo era. The temple has many interesting spots such as the main hall, a national treasure deifying an Amitabha statue absolutely not shown to the public and said to be the oldest in Japan. Before the end of the tour you can stroll along Nakamise Street, a shopping street in front of the temple gate and enjoy specialties, local products and delicious food of Nagano.
